RYE, New York — A New York state police report into a crash that killed a member of the Connecticut National Guard says the driver of the other vehicle made an unsafe lane change.

But police have not charged anyone in the Aug. 7 crash on I-95 in Rye that killed Staff Sgt. Ronald Patterson of Bridgeport.

The accident is still under investigation.

Patterson and Sgt. First Class Kayla Downey were riding in a military truck that collided with a Toyota sedan and rolled over.

Patterson was killed and Downey was injured. She has returned to limited duty with the guard.

The accident report obtained by WTIC-AM (http://cbsloc.al/1EX8J7K ) said the driver of the sedan was trying to cross over to the exit ramp when he passed in front of the truck and they collided.
