DETROIT — Jury deliberations are set to resume in the case of a suburban Detroit man charged with arranging his wife's murder while he was having affairs and exploring bondage and masochism with other women.

The Wayne County Sheriff's Office says Bob Bashara is expected back in court Thursday. The trial for the 57-year-old Pointe Park man has been on hold since Monday because of an undisclosed illness that sent him to a hospital. He would need to be present for jury questions or a verdict.

The sheriff's office and Bashara's lawyer declined to say why he was hospitalized.

Bashara is charged with having his wife killed in 2012 so he could pursue a life with other women. His attorney says that's not the case and he could have continued his affairs without having her killed.
