      NACOGDOCHES, Texas — Jared Johnson made 5 of 6 from beyond the arc for a career-high 21 points and Thomas Walkup added 18 points with nine assists as Stephen F. Austin overwhelmed Lamar 103-74 on Monday night.

      Walkup scored Stephen F. Austin's first eight to give him 1,000 career points.

      The Lumberjacks were on target all night, hitting 12 of 23 from long range, making 41 of 66 field goal attempts (62 percent). Lamar made 24 of 48 field goals but had 19 turnovers, which SFA converted into 21 points.

      Stephen F. Austin (23-4, 13-1 Southland Conference) and Sam Houston State share the top spot in conference. The Lumberjacks beat SHSU 79-68 on January 24. The teams will square off again on March 7 to conclude conference play prior to the tournament.

      Tyran de Lattibeaudiere hit 9 of 13 from the floor for 22 points for Lamar (14-13, 8-7).
