BUCKHANNON, West Virginia — An August sentencing is set for a Buckhannon man convicted of killing another man in a murder-for-hire case.
Jessie Lee Heater is one of three people charged in the 2012 slaying of 29-year-old Joshua Oberg of Buckhannon.
Media outlets report that an Upshur County jury convicted Heater of first-degree murder, concealed of a human body and two conspiracy charges last week.
Heater faces life in prison without possibility of parole when he's sentenced Aug. 14.
Police say co-defendant Rodolpho Villagomez Correa paid Heater $5,000 to kill Oberg.
The 33-year-old Correa is scheduled to stand trial in July. Another co-defendant, 31-year-old Robert Eugene Siron III of Weston, is serving 16 years in prison after pleading guilty last December to voluntary manslaughter and conspiracy to conceal a body.
