WELLFLEET, Massachusetts — A woman killed in a head-on car crash on Cape Cod has been identified as a 76-year-old Rhode Island resident. Two other people were seriously injured.

Police in Wellfleet say Lucille Francoeur of Warwick, Rhode Island, died after the wreck on Route 6 that happened at about 1:15 p.m. Saturday, when a northbound 2007 Subaru and a southbound 2014 Audi collided head-on.

Authorities say Francoeur was a passenger in the Subaru, which was driven by 55-year-old Denise Wilkie of Little Compton, Rhode Island. The Audi driver was identified as 46-year-old James Martin of Provincetown, Massachusetts.

Police say Wilkie and Martin are being treated for serious but non-life threatening injuries at Cape Cod Hospital in Hyannis.

The cause of the accident remains under investigation.
