Anchorage police release name of homicide victim found unconscious in parking lot

ANCHORAGE, Alaska — Anchorage police have released the name of a man who died after being found unconscious in a parking lot.

Police say no arrests have been made in connection with the death of 54-year-old Abraham Midgett III last week.

Police say officers were sent to the area early Friday morning in response to shots heard in the vicinity around 12th Avenue and Hyder Street.

According to police, officers at the scene found Midgett unconscious in the parking lot of a body shop. Midgett was taken to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
