FARMVILLE, Virginia — DeSean Murray and William Truss combined for 28 points and 23 rebounds as Presbyterian went to work inside in the absence of Longwood center Lotanna Nwogbo, defeating the Lancers 71-67 on Wednesday night.

Murray hit 7 of 14 shots from the field, scoring 18 points with 12 boards, and Truss scored 16 points with 11 rebounds as the Blue Hose (6-12, 2-3 Big South) out-rebounded Longwood 46-30 and scored 36 points in the paint with Nwogbo out with an injured thumb.

Jordan Downing also scored 16 for the Blue Hose and Markus Terry added 10 — each hitting two of Presbyterian's five 3-pointers. Murray also dished eight assists.

Quincy Taylor scored 23 for Longwood, including back-to-back 3-pointers to pull the Lancers within 69-67 with 12 seconds left.

But Terry iced the win with a pair of free throws with 10 seconds to play.
