WILLISTON, North Dakota — Voters in the district encompassing rural schools around Williston are deciding the fate of a proposed new facility.

Tuesday's election is on a proposed K-8 school that would upgrade facilities that are crowded and in some cases don't even have a gymnasium.

The Williston Herald reports that if the bond measure passes, homeowners will pay an additional $103 in property taxes per $100,000 worth of home value. Farmers will pay an additional 43 cents per acre of agricultural land.

Voters in the district last year defeated a proposed K-12 school.

The district encompassing schools in Williston is working on a new high school that's expected to be finished in the fall.
