PROVIDENCE, Rhode Island — A 26-year-old Woonsocket man has been found guilty of two counts of assault with a dangerous weapon in a 2013 shooting in the city.

Attorney General Peter Kilmartin said Friday a Superior Court jury returned the verdict in the trial of Christian "Chay" Rosado after less than three hours of deliberation. The proceeding lasted a week.

Prosecutors say Rosado fired a semi-automatic gun at Ikey Wilson and his girlfriend, Jalisa Collins, while they were walking on the Fairmount Bridge in March of last year. Wilson was hit in the leg and buttocks; Collins wasn't injured.

Rosado fled and was caught the next day. The gun wasn't recovered.

Rosado, who has been in custody since his arrest, is due to be sentenced on Nov. 13.
