ST. MORITZ, Switzerland — Oskars Melbardis piloted victory for Latvia in the 4-man bobsled World Cup on Sunday to extend his lead in the standings.

Melbardis, who won the 2-man event Saturday, drove his crew of Daumants Dreiskens, Arvis Vilkaste and Janis Strenga to be fastest in both runs for a combined time of 2 minutes, 9.73 seconds on the Olympia track.

Germany filled the podium places with pilot Francesco Friedrich's crew trailing Melbardis by 0.18 seconds. Four-time world champion Maximilian Arndt, who won last week at home in Koenigssee, was 0.38 back in third.

Olympic silver medalist Melbardis earned 225 World Cup points for the win, and leads Friedrich by 160 with three events left.

The World Cup season ends Feb. 15 on the Olympic track at Sochi, Russia.
