RICHMOND, Virginia — Dominion Virginia Power has restored electricity to more than 6,000 customers who lost service during a winter storm.

As of 12:40 p.m. Thursday, the utility's website shows about 3,700 outages. That's down from about 10,000 outages on Thursday morning.

Most of the remaining outages are in southeastern and Southside Virginia.

Appalachian Power reports about 250 outages in Henry and Wise counties.

A public information statement from the National Weather Service shows snowfall from the latest storm ranging from 8.5 inches in Poquoson to 2 inches in Trevilians in Louisa County.
