DETROIT — Fresh snow snarled traffic on some Michigan roadways during the morning rush hour as authorities urged motorists to slow down.
Wednesday's snow came a day after authorities say three people died in crashes on Michigan roads left slick by snow and ice.
In southwestern Michigan, the Kalamazoo County sheriff's department says a 51-year-old Kalamazoo woman died when she crossed the center line and hit another vehicle in Comstock Township. The department on Wednesday identified her as Suzanne Martin.
In southeastern Michigan, the Oakland County sheriff's department says 36-year-old Pedro Montanez of New Hudson was driving his three children to school when he hit ice and struck an oncoming pickup truck in Lyon Township. The crash killed Montanez and his 9-year-old son Steven and injured his 10-year-old son and 6-year-old daughter.
