RICHMOND, Virginia — Three Virginians are among more than 140 people selected from across the country to participate in the fall White House internship program.

The White House says the program provides an opportunity to gain professional experience and build leadership skills. Interns work in departments ranging from the Offices of Cabinet Affairs and the Office of Digital Strategy to the Offices of the First Lady and the Vice President. Other departments include the Presidential Personnel Office, the Domestic Policy Council and the National Economic Council.

The interns from the state are: Cara Buchanan of Herndon, Matthew Gerstein of Manassas and Eleyni Rodriguez of Falls Church.
