ELOY, Arizona — Authorities say a skydiver from California has died in Eloy but the cause is still under investigation.

Eloy police Sgt. Brian Jerome says officers received a call shortly after 3 p.m. Saturday saying a skydiver was down.

Jerome says officers went to an area near Shedd and Tumbleweed roads and found 48-year-old Earl Bohm of Lake Elsinore, California.

Authorities pronounced Bohm dead at the scene.

Jerome says Bohm's parachute was recovered and will be given to the Federal Aviation Administration for inspection.

Jerome says authorities don't yet know what may have led to the incident.

Bohm's body has been turned over to the Pinal County Medical Examiner's Office for an autopsy.

Jerome says it is not yet clear what level of skydiving experience Bohm had.
