ALEXANDRIA, Louisiana — Federal prosecutors say two prisoners in the U.S. Penitentiary in Pollock have pleaded guilty to beating a fellow inmate so severely that it left him with a traumatic brain injury.

The Town Talk reports (http://townta.lk/1vjPtMz ) 32-year-old Jeffrey Lovell and 36-year-old Christopher Simpson each pleaded guilty Wednesday before U.S. District Judge Dee Drell to one count of assault resulting in serious bodily injury.

Prosecutors say the two inmates were shown on video beating another inmate on June 11, 2013, hitting him repeatedly in the head and torso.

Both Lovell and Simpson face up to 10 additional years in prison, three years supervised release and $250,000 fines.

Sentencing is set for Feb. 13.
