FARMINGTON, New York — Authorities say a 57-year-old motorcyclist has been killed in a collision with a deer on a western New York road.
The Ontario County Sheriff's Office says Dale Young of Canandaigua was rounding a curve Saturday night when he hit a deer in the town of Farmington, 15 mile southeast of Rochester.
Investigators say the impact forced the motorcycle off the road and ejected Young from the vehicle.
A driver who came by moments later started CPR along with a deputy until an ambulance arrived. They were unable to save Young, who was pronounced dead at the scene.
It was the second fatal accident in upstate New York involving a motorcyclist and a deer in the past month. On May 12, a 53-year-old Syracuse-area biker was killed when he hit a deer in Cayuga County.
