BRIDGEVIEW, Illinois — An early goal from David Accam was enough for Chicago to beat 10-man New York City 1-0 in Major League Soccer on Friday.

Chicago won its third straight game, having started the season with a hat trick of defeats, while New York City's inaugural season has not ignited as expected, and the team has now gone six games without a win.

Accam capitalized on a defensive mistake in the 20th minute. NYC backup goalkeeper Ryan Meara came out of his area to prevent the ball from going out of bounds, but mishandled it and Accam dribbled back to an empty net.

Accam put pressure on the visitors' defense for most of the game. He was taken down from behind on a breakaway in the 23rd minute, which resulted in Andrew Jacobson being sent off.

COLORADO RAPIDS 1, DALLAS 1

Dallas missed a chance to go equal top of the standings when it drew 1-1 at Colorado.

The Texan team opened the scoring in the 31st minute through Mauro Diaz's goal, but was reduced to ten men in the 59th minute when Blas Perez was sent off for a foul against Drew Moor.

Colorado capitalized on the numerical advantage when Nick LaBrocca equalized in the 79th minute but could not find the winner that would have lifted the Rapids off the foot of the Western Conference standings.
