NEW HARTFORD, Connecticut — Searchers have resumed looking for the body of a Connecticut kayaker who went missing in New Hartford in January.

A state police dive team is using side scan sonar in West Mill Pond, while a rescue dog from the state Department of Energy and Environmental Protection searches the shoreline for signs of 53-year-old Patricia Cole.

Cole went kayaking on New Year's Day and a friend reported her missing the next morning.

The search was suspended over the winter due to thick ice on the pond, which cleared late last week.
