CASPER, Wyoming — Oil drilling in Wyoming has continued to increase steadily over the first half of this year.

The number of drilling rigs continued to rise in recent months and there are more working now than there were in the same period last year.

Jobs in Wyoming's oil and gas industries also continue to increase.

The Casper Star-Tribune reports (http://bit.ly/1p6omSe ) that most of the drilling activity remains centered in the Powder River Basin.

Baker Hughes, an oil field service company, reported an average July rig count of 52 for Wyoming. Overall, the year-to-date rig count is up 13 percent, from 45 last year to 51 this year.
