CHESTER, New York — Authorities say a 47-year-old northern Pennsylvania woman has died in a two-vehicle crash on an Adirondack road.

The Warren County Sheriff's Office says a 50-year-old Brant Lake man was driving a pickup truck on Route 8 around 2:30 p.m. Thursday when a car failed to yield the right of way after passing through an intersection in the town of Chester, 70 miles north of Albany.

The pickup hit the car, heavily damaging both vehicles.

Officers say the car was driven by 52-year-old David Sherwood of Wellsboro in Tioga County, Pennsylvania. His wife, Judith, was taken to Glens Falls Hospital, where she was pronounced dead.

The driver of the pickup and his passenger were treated for minor injuries. David Sherwood declined medical treatment.

No tickets were issued, but the accident remained under investigation.
