Donald Wayne Cook, 75, of Shelbyville died Friday, Jan. 17, 2014, at Major Hospital in Shelbyville. He was born Aug. 7, 1938, in Portland, Tenn., the son of William Donald and Odessa Vera (O’Neal) Cook. On Sept. 17, 1960, he married Mary Jo Peelman, who survives.
Other survivors include his sons, Alan (Karen) Scott and Bobby Joe (Donna) Cook, both of Shelbyville; daughters, Sarah Faye (Hal) Webb of Wooster, Ohio, Candy Long of Greenfield, Donna Jo (Michael) Johnson and Sue Cook, both of Shelbyville; sister, Gloria Annetta Caine of Southport; brother, Bobby Leroy Cook of Shelbyville; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2014, at Freeman Family Funeral Homes and Crematory, Carmony-Ewing Chapel, 819 S. Harrison St., Shelbyville. Funeral services will be 11 a.m. Wednesday, Jan. 22, 2014, at the funeral home, with the Rev. Bill Horner officiating. Interment will be at Forest Hill Cemetery.
