Dustin “Dusty” Ralph Clarkson
Dustin “Dusty” Ralph Clarkson, 66, passed away New Years Eve 2013, in the place of his birth, St. Vincent Regional Hospital of Anderson. He was born July 10, 1947, to Betty and the late Edward Clarkson.
Living most of his life in Pendleton, Dusty grew up in Frankton, Ovid, and Idaho’s Snake River Canyon, graduating Frankton High School in 1965. Returning to Indiana from the Army as Vietnam Veteran he started his family. While being a devoted father and loyal husband, Dusty also achieved recognition as a master fisherman, carpenter, and little league coach. The twenty years prior to retiring at 62, Dusty worked as superintendent and, “undisputed champion all things concrete” for Bowen Engineering.
He leaves behind much wisdom and countless stories. He will be thought of fondly and often.
Left behind to cherish his memory are his wife, of 24 years, Kathryn (Menke) Clarkson and his two youngest sons, Shaun DeCamp and his sons, Brice and Aden DeCamp and Shane Clarkson; his first wife, Debora Stoner and his two oldest sons, Brett (Misty) Clarkson and their three daughters, Madison, Laney, and Kami and Brady Clarkson and his daughter, Josalyn; mother, Betty; brother, Michael Clarkson; sisters, Amy Chambers and Cindy Harrison. Dustin also leaves behind his best friend and constant sidekick, “Westie” Maggie Clarkson.
Visitation was held from 2- 6 p.m. Sunday, Jan. 5, 2013, at the funeral home. Services was at 10 a.m. Monday, Jan. 6, 2013 at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service & Crematory, Lahm Chapel. Burial was held at Anderson Memorial Park Cemetery.
