George Alan Sheller, 63, Lapel, died Sunday, Dec. 15, 2013, at Community Heart and Vascular Hospital in Indianapolis following a brief illness. He was born on June 26, 1950, in Anderson, to George H. and Wanda (Carlin) Sheller.

He served in the Army Green Beret Special Forces.

He is survived by his fiance, Minnie Delph; two children, Christain Sheller and Bridget (Brandon) McKinney  both of Noblesville; two grandchildren; his parents, George and Wanda Sheller of Tipton; three brothers, Gary (Karen) Sheller of Levenworth, Paul (Dani) Sheller of Lapel and Mark (Beth) Sheller of Noblesville; and a sister-in-law, Sherry Sheller of Noblesville.

He was preceded in death by a sister, Teresa and a brother David.

A funeral service will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Dec. 20, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with Brother Gene Parker officiating.  Burial will follow in Brookside Cemetery, Lapel where the Lapel American Legion will perform military graveside rites.

Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 19, 2013, at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
