Margaret “Greta” McCunn (McIntyre) Faenzi
Margaret “Greta” McCunn (McIntyre) Faenzi, 79, of Greenfield, passed away to be with the Lord on Sunday, Oct. 27, 2013. She was born in Renfrew, Scotland, the daughter of Robert and Mary (McCunn) McIntyre.
On June 27, 1954, she married her husband, Louis Faenzi, Sr. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She will be dearly missed by all who knew and loved her.
Greta was retired from National City Bank (PNC) and K-Mart in Greenfield. She was a member of St. Thomas Catholic Church in Fortville. She was very active in her church, where she volunteered. While her children where growing, she also volunteered at St. Michael’s Catholic School. She had a love for animals. From this love, she became active in the American Kennel Club dog shows and the Irish Setter Club. She had a love for Irish Setters. She also volunteered her time with the Hancock County 4-H Dog Show.
Greta, as most people knew her, loved the community of Greenfield. She was committed to contributing to making our community a better place for future generations. Whether it was volunteering for the county fair or contributing to a food bank, she was devoted to volunteerism.
She is survived by her loving husband of 59 years, Louis Faenzi, Sr.; children, Louise (Joe) Fiano, Linda Streit, Bob (Kathy) Faenzi, Debbie (Greg) Muegge, Louis Faenzi, Jr., James Faenzi and Amy (Joe) Fistrovich; 16 grandchildren; and 16 great-grandchildren.
Greta was preceded in death by her parents; brother, James McIntyre; and grandchild, Janie Fiano.
A visitation will be held from 4 - 8 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 31, 2013, at Erlewein Mortuary & Crematory in Greenfield, with a Rosary Service at 7:30 p.m. A Mass of Christian Burial will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Nov. 1, 2013, at St. Michael’s Catholic Church in Greenfield. Father George Nangacheveettil will be officiating. Burial will follow at Park Cemetery in Greenfield.
