James Franklin “Jim” Roberts

James Franklin “Jim” Roberts, former Lapel resident, 72, of Pendleton, died Wednesday, Oct. 23, 2013. He was born on Nov. 14, 1940, in Zanesville, Ohio to Charles and Esther (Simms) Roberts.

He served in the Air Force.

He is survived by his wife of 51 years, Wilma J. (Cooper) Roberts; three daughters, Lorie Roberts and Terrie (Doug) Huntzinger both of Lapel, and Mindy (Jason) Pigg of Lafayette; six grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.

He was preceded in death by his parents; grandson, Brandon Carder; and sister, Shirley Roberts.

Visitation will be from 2 - 5 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 26, 2013, with a memorial service immediately following at 5 p.m. at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home, 1010 North Main Street, Lapel, with Rev. Neal Brown officiating.

Memorial contributions may be made to American Heart Association.
