Charles "Charlie" Frederick Marling, 68, of New Palestine, died Feb. 28, 2013. He was born on July 19, 1944, in Beech Grove, to Ernest Milton and Winifred Jean Marling (McDonald).

Charlie served his country in the Navy on active duty and served in Vietnam and in the National Guard and Air Force Reserves, which he retired from the Air Force.

He is survived by by his wife, Beverly Diane Marling (Willis); son, Timothy Marling (Sandra); daughters, Jeannine Marling and Monica Marling (Robert Glover); brothers, Thomas Marling (Beatrice) and Rex Marling (Judy); sisters, Nancy Shepherd; and two grandchildren.

Visitation will be from 11 a.m til 12:30 p.m., on March 6, 2013, at Hendryx Mortuary Cumberland Chapel, 11636 E. Washington St. Indianapolis. Masonic and funeral services at 12:30 p.m., on March 6, 2013.

Memorial contributions to Shriner's Children's Hospital.
