Ellen O. “Tina” Blanchard, 75, formerly of Muncie, passed away peacefully on Feb. 25, after a courageous battle with pancreatic cancer.

Born and raised in Frankfurt, Germany she graduated high school and Berlitz Language School in Frankfurt before moving to the United States and becoming a U.S. citizen.

Tina enjoyed living life her way.  She was a strong, independent woman with a spirit all her own.  She loved to travel and explore the people and cultures of other countries.  Her home was full of treasures and memories she had collected from all over Europe, Africa, and most of the United States.  She also collected flowers from across the country and spent many hours enjoying their beauty. When Tina wasn’t traveling or gardening, she was shopping. She was a first class shopper!  Her high energy and fun-loving personality will be greatly missed by many.

Tina leaves behind her 4 children; daughters,  Pamela (Mike) Koch, Muncie, Jennifer (Phil) Marcum, Pendleton, Monique (Shane) Shewmake, Avon; and son,  Jason (Brooke) Blanchard, Cocoa, Florida; her grandchildren; Wes, Alex & Tyler Koch, Boone & Scout Marcum, Brayden Shewmake and Jasten & Aubree Blanchard;  her 2 brothers, Ronald (Inge) Weller and family, Fremont, California, and Horst Weller, Frankfurt, Germany.

Welcoming Tina into her heavenly home are her late parents, Albert & Irmgard Weller; her favorite aunt,  Olga Curtz; her sister-in-law, Ellen Weller; and her beloved grandson, Matthew Koch.

To honor Tina’s wishes, there will be not be a public service.  A private service for family will be held at a later date.  Arrangements are taken care of by Indiana Funeral Care and Crematory of Indianapolis.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to the Pendleton Christian Church, P.O. Box 376, Pendleton, IN, 46064; or Little Red Door of East Central Indiana, 2311 W. Jackson St., Muncie, IN, 47303.

The children of Tina Blanchard wish to express our deepest gratitude to the Oncology department and the Hospice unit of IU Ball Memorial Hospital for the excellent care and love mom received from everyone.

Her family invites you to sign the online guest book and share a memory at http://www.indianafuneralcare.com.

Ihre Familie und Freunde warden Sie fur immer lieben.
