Wayne M. Ormes, 80, of Markleville, passed away at St. Johns Medical Center in Anderson, on Oct. 8, 2012. He was born in Milan, Ind., on July 28, 1932, and was the son of Leonard M. and Alice L. Wolfe Ormes.
He was a 1950 graduate of Middletown High School and retired in 1993 from Delco Remy of General Motors after 43 years of service, much of that time as a toolmaker. He was a member of the Markleville Masonic Lodge, Scottish Rite, Valley of Indianapolis, Murat Shrine, Order of the Eastern Star and the East Christian Church Of Markleville.
Survivors include three children, Walter Ormes of LaCross, Wis., Connie Dunn of Anderson and Bradley (Cindy) Ormes of Markleville; stepbrother, Alen Lee Surpas of Muncie; nine grandchildren; and 13 great- grandchildren.
Friends called at the funeral home Thursday last week from 4-8 p.m. and Masonic rites conducted at 8 p.m. Funeral services was Friday of last week at Ballard and Sons Funeral Home, 118 South 5th, Middletown with Rev. Mike Srjblan officiating. Burial will follow in Miller Cemetery in Middletown.
