Harriett (Stephens) Sibera
Harriett (Stephens) Sibera, 95, passed away Aug. 20, 2012, at Prairie Lakes Health Campus in Noblesville.
She was born April 26, 1917, in Pendleton at the family farmhouse to Hervey and Rosa (Pritchard) Stephens and was a lifelong resident.
Harriett was a 1935 graduate of Pendleton High School, a lifetime member of First United Methodist Church, Pendleton and was past president of W.S.C.S.as well as Pendleton Alumni Association, Olivian Society, and American Business Woman’s Association organizations. She was a volunteer and corporate sponsor for Pet-a-pal.
She was employed at Vermillion Jewelry and Kirkman Jewelry Stores in Anderson; and 20 years at Delco Remy Division of General Motors.
Harriett felt anyone she’s ever loved was her best friend.
Survivors include her daughter, Jane (Titus) (Ken) Lewis of Indianapolis; three grandchildren, Marcie Downing of Indianapolis; Martin Downing of Atlanta, Ga., and Scott (Nicole) Downing of Franklin; three great-grandsons, Emerson, Davis and Nicklaus Downing; nephew, Richard L. (Judy) Stephens; three great-nieces and great-nephew, Sue (Dennis) White, Kelly (J.R.) Roudebush, Stacy (Jeff) Chemelewski, and Andrew (Joann) Stephens.
She was preceded in death by her parents; husbands, L. M. Titus and Stanley J. Sibera; three brothers, Clarence, Emerson “King”, and Horace “Red” Stephens; and two great-nephews, Eric and Jim Stephens.
A service were held at Wilson St. Pierre Funeral Service and Crematory, Lahm Chapel, Pendleton at 2 p.m. on Thursday, Aug. 23, 2012, with Pastors Claude Creel and Doug Walker officiating. Burial will follow in Grove Lawn Cemetery, Pendleton.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m until 2 p.m., Thursday at Lahm Chapel, Pendleton.
