GREENFIELD — One team garnered a much-needed win; the other added another player to its list of walking wounded.
New Palestine edged host Greenfield-Central 2-1 Wednesday evening, and spent most of the match controlling possession in its attacking half of the field.
In the words of their coach, the ultra-young Dragons (2-7-1, 1-2 Hoosier Heritage Conference) finally “woke up.”
“They really want it now. I think that’s what it was,” said first-year NP coach Gina Fannin. “We had a problem in the beginning (of the season) playing from start to finish, and finishing the game strong. And tonight, they were able to do that. I think they’ve just come alive.”
