Hancock County Retired Teachers
March 19, 2013
GREENFIELD — Hancock County Retired Teachers met recently at the Great American Grill in Greenfield.
President Nancy Holzhausen welcomed 40 retired teachers to the meeting.
It was announced that Hancock County Retired Teachers had given 21,463 volunteer hours to the state. Cindy Hiott, volunteer coordinator, said teachers in the state had again exceeded 1,000,000 volunteer hours.
Dave Heller’s “Presidential Presentation” was a clever question-and-answer program with facts about the presidents. Heller said George Washington was the richest president. At the time of his death, he owned almost half of Virginia. Thomas Jefferson and Ulysses S. Grant both died penniless.
Area 5 Director Ray Jones spoke briefly about concerns pertaining to retired teachers. He said Area 5 needs a representative on the by-law committee and some other state offices.
