While home on Christmas break, 19-year-old Kyle Jobin of McCordsville was killed at the Marathon gas station on 56th Street in Lawrence.

As the family continues to try and make sense of the tragedy, they gathered with friends at the site of the slaying Friday evening to remember Kyle, a Mt. Vernon High School graduate who was studying land surveying at Vincennes University. They sang and shared stories of Kyle’s life, praying for continued support and justice for Kyle.

The shooting happened about 2:30 a.m. Jan. 5. Kyle visited the gas station to pick up a pack of cigarettes. On his way out, four men surrounded his car and tried to get in. By the time police arrived, Kyle had been shot in the head.

The Lawrence Police Department is investigating, but according to Kyle’s father, Joe Jobin, the leads have dried up. Anyone with any information is asked to call the Lawrence Police Department at (317) 545-6191.
