GREENFIELD — Local organizers of United Way of Central Indiana’s annual campaign have set their sights sky high with a new fundraising goal set thousands of dollars above last year – fitting for this year’s “superhero” theme.
“Each of you is a superhero today,” Paula Jarrett, UWCI’s area director for the Hancock county office, told a crowd of nearly 200 volunteers and supporters.
Many in attendance at a breakfast Friday morning were getting ready to participate in service projects for UWCI’s Day of Caring.
They and hundreds of other donors will need to tap into superhero powers to reach their fundraising goal of $586,000 in the coming months.
