GREENFIELD — Once corn and beans sprouted from the fields just north of University Loft Co. off W. CR 300N, but now the heavy steel shell of Tsuda Industries’ new manufacturing facility is taking shape for a late-year opening.
Construction on the 155,000-square-foot, $56.2 million plant began in late May and is moving toward a December completion date, said Kazunari Fujii, project manager with Takenaka Corp. USA, the general contractor for the project.
The building is expected to be completed by mid-December, Fujii said Friday. That will allow them to move in and then take a vacation before Christmas.
Other than right-of-way and property line issues that had to be resolved early in site preparation process, construction has gone well.
