Delphi boys basketball coach Michael Lewis is expected to be approved as the new Greenfield-Central basketball coach today at a school board meeting.
Lewis, if approved, will replace Josh Johnson, who resigned after five seasons.
Through four seasons at Delphi, Lewis is 57-33, going 9-12 last season and 19-6, 14-9 and 15-6 the previous years.
Lewis guided the Oracles to a Class 2A sectional title in 2012-13, their first championship since 2004.
Lewis is listed as a sixth grade teacher at Delphi Community Middle School on the Delphi school corporation’s website.
At the same Greenfield school board meeting, Isaac Beal is expected to be approved as new boys soccer head coach. Beal would replace Jared Manning, who has been named the new G-C athletic director. Current A.D. Kevin Horrigan is retiring.

Indiana University will host a regional in the NCAA Division I baseball tournament beginning today. The regional is double-elimination.
The regional winner will advance to one of eight super regionals, which are best-of-three.
Indiana is ranked No. 6 in the country by College Baseball America and will face off today against Youngstown State, which won the Horizon League tourney after finishing regular season conference play 6-17.
The regional at IU will continue through Monday. Today’s schedule:

The Greenfield Parks and Recreation Department will host a 18-and-up, slow-pitch softball tournament July 12 at Brandywine Park.
Registration begins June 9 and cost is $135 per team. Deadline for registration is July 2 at 3 p.m. There will be a men’s division and a co-ed division.
Each team will play multiple games in a round robin tournament format. Each team must sign a roster/waiver form the before the tournament or the first day of play.
American Softball Association rules will be enforced. Rosters may be up to 20 players.
T-shirts will be awarded to the winners.

Greenfield-Central High School will host a basketball doubleheader featuring the Indiana Junior All-Stars vs. the Kentucky Junior All-Stars on June 6.
The girls game will begin at 5 p.m. followed by the boys. Tickets are $6.
The Indiana Juniors will also face the Indiana Senior All-Stars in a pair of exhibitions June 9 (Logansport) and June 11 (Columbus North) leading up to the Seniors’ annual battle with Kentucky June 13 (in Lexington) and June 14 (Bankers Life Fieldhouse).
The Greenfield Area Soccer Club has organized Greenfield Night in conjunction with the Indy Eleven during the Indy Eleven’s home game against the New York Cosmos, Aug. 30 at 7:30 p.m. at Carroll Stadium at IUPUI.
Discount tickets are available and, based on the amount of tickets sold, children who attend the game will be able to escort players onto the field, be a ball boy/girl and other activities.
