GREENFIELD — Hancock County residents and workers likely haven’t noticed a change since the statewide smoking ban went into effect at the start of this month. Instead, the biggest impact may be on overnight visitors to the county.
Hotel rooms are one of the only places in Hancock County affected by the statewide smoking ban that was signed into law by Gov. Mitch Daniels in March. Hancock County passed its own smoking ordinance, which is generally more restrictive than the state standard, in 2008.
