GREENFIELD — Janice Silvey was re-appointed chair of the Hancock County Republican Party Saturday but her opponent, Tara Armstrong, continues to push her own party ideologies.
Prior to Saturday’s vote, Armstrong had stated she felt Silvey was not being aggressive enough in growing the local party’s strength. So on Monday, Armstrong formed a brand new GOP group.
Specifically, Armstrong, who lost to Silvey in a 36-32 vote, filed paperwork for a new political action committee called the Hancock County GOP Club, saying a more proactive approach is needed for the county’s strongest party to remain on top.
