Draw: Muncie Central (2-6) hosts Greenfield-Central (3-5). Winner faces victor of Delta (5-3) at Frankfort (3-5). Bottom half of the bracket is Muncie Southside (5-2) at Pendleton Heights (6-2) and Mt. Vernon (7-1) at New Palestine (3-5).
Notes: NP hosts MV Friday night to close the regular season. G-C welcomes Pendleton Heights. PH is defending sectional champion.
Reaction: "I always approach the draw as something that’s out of your control. You have to get prepared and get ready for whoever is there. Only weird thing about playing a team back to back is you already have your prep done, it’s just matter of being focused and being fundamentally sound. We try to keep everything business as usual." — MV coach Doug Armstrong.
"I like to draw someone we don’t normally play, so I can’t complain about the draw." — G-C coach Roger Dodson.
"It’s no surprise with the way a lot of things went this season. Whomever it would’ve been, we would not have dealt with them until next week anyway. It just makes our preparation easier." — NP coach Charlie Hill.
Draw: Eastern Hancock (3-5) will host Class A No. 6 Hagerstown (8-0) Oct 19 at 7 p.m. The winner of that game faces the victor of Tri (0-8) at Northeastern (4-4). The top half of the bracket is Scecina (5-3) at Cambridge City Lincoln (6-2) and Knightstown (5-3) at Indiana School for the Deaf (1-7).
Notes: EH hosts Edinburgh (4-4) Friday in its final regular season tilt. Scecina is defending sectional champion.
Reaction: “(Hagerstown) is a good football team with an excellent quarterback who can run and throw. But our focus is on Edinburgh. We have to play well this Friday so we can get on a roll for the playoffs.” — EH coach Pat Echeverria.
