GREENFIELD — Outdoor equipment and lifestyle retailer Gander Mountain has filed construction plans for a Greenfield store.
According to plans dated Sept. 17 and filed with the city planning department, the St. Paul, Minn.-based company is seeking to build a 45,600-square-foot store with 36,250 square feet of retail space just north of Home Depot at approximately the 2100 block of North Barrett Drive in Greenfield.
The nearly six-acre location lies immediately south of the future Kohl’s department store site. If approved by the city, the store would be the second big-box retailer to locate there.
Kohl’s was approved by the city in 2011, but the retailer subsequently pushed back construction plans. The company has obtained an extension on its agreement until 2015.
