NEW YORK — Local emergency personnel deployed to the east coast to assist in the aftermath of Hurricane Sandy likely won’t be coming home anytime soon. Buck Creek, Sugar Creek and Greenfield fire departments each have firefighters participating in rescue efforts that are expected to continue through the weekend.
“I think we’re going to be here for a while,” said Dave DeVore, battalion shift chief for Buck Creek Township Fire Department.
