The Dragons won for the sixth time in their last seven games by dispatching Indian Creek 6-1 on Tuesday. NP entered the sixth inning clinging to a 1-0 advantage before plating two in the frame and three more in the seventh.

Audrey East was 3-for-4 and drove in two runs, increasing her RBI total to 49 on the season, which is the second-highest total in Indiana.

Adie Lorsung (2-for-4), Alexa Cavin (2-for-3, two runs) and Erin Lehman (two-run double) chipped in offensively for the Dragons.

Kaylin McMurray collected her second win by tossing four scoreless innings.

NP (19-6) hosts Delta today.

Softball

Mt. Vernon 5, Alexandria Monroe 3

The Marauders jumped out to a 4-0 lead after the first inning and held on against Alexandria on Tuesday.

Ellie Balbach gathered her 13th victory by hurling seven innings of five-hit, three-run ball. She struck out six and walked one.

Rachel Davis (2-for-3, two runs, home run, two RBIs), Rachel Houck (2-for-4, run) and Balbach (3-for-3) paced the MV offense.

The Marauders (17-7) host the Mt. Vernon Invitational Saturday.

Cambridge City Lincoln 10, Eastern Hancock 0

The visiting Royals dropped a decision against Cambridge City Tuesday, a team they could potentially face in the second round of sectional play.

Offensively for EH, Taylor Denny was 3-for-3 with a stolen base and Savannah Blevins notched a pair of hits. Peyton Neisler took the loss on the mound.

Eastern (14-11) is at North Decatur today.
