EH opens season with Tindley

The Hoosier Heritage Conference will host a football showcase featuring all eight HHC teams at Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis on Saturday, Sept. 8, during Week 4 of the regular season.
The lineup:
>> Pendleton Heights vs. Shelbyville, 11 a.m.
>> Rushville vs. Mt. Vernon, 1:45 p.m.
>> Yorktown vs. Greenfield-Central, 4:30 p.m.
>> Delta vs. New Palestine, 7:15 p.m.

Eastern Hancock will visit Indianapolis Tindley in its season-opening football game on Aug. 17. Tindley replaces Triton Central, which dropped EH from its schedule to join the Indiana Crosscroads Conference after leaving the Mid-Indiana Football Conference.
Tindley, a private school in Indianapolis that opened in 2004, will be in its first year as an IHSAA football program. Tindley is located near E. 38th St. and N. Keystone Ave.

The Mt. Vernon football program will host two camps:
>> Junior High Team Camp for incoming grades 5-9 will be held May 20-23 from 4-5:30 p.m. each day at the Mt. Vernon High School practice fields. Camp focus will be on installling the basic offense and defense by the varsity coaching staff.
Cost is $20.
>> Junior High Technique Camp for incoming grades 1-2 and 3-9 will be held July 15-18 each day from 5-5:45 p.m. (grades 1-2) and from 6-7:30 p.m. (grades 3-9). Cost is $50.
