The Greenfield-Central boys’ track and field team was third at the Pendleton Heights Invitational on Thursday, but came away with a school record in the process.

The 400-meter relay team of Brandon Bowmer, Skylar Johnson, Jeremiah Wray and Matt Dickerson not only placed first, but broke the school record with a time of 43:22. The old school record, set in 1995, was 44.2.

Individual winners were Tyler Beeson (shot put), Bowmer (100-meter dash), Dickerson (110, 300-meter hurdles) and Wray (pole vault).

G-C is at the Noblesville Invitational on Tuesday.

Mt. Vernon took first in the Pendleton Heights Invitational with 150 points. PH was second (143 points) and Greenfield-Central was third (124).

Victors for MV were Jiamyl McCoy (high jump) and Corey White (200-meter dash).

Second-place winners were Isaac Davis (high jump), Chase Harker (pole vault), McCoy (long jump) and the 4x800 relay team of Andrew Noble, Desmond Hampton, Eric Thompson and Luke Fimreite.

MV is at a tri-meet with PH and Rushville at Pendleton on Monday.
