Greenfield-Central shut out Lebanon Saturday.
For the Cougars’ sake, it’s too bad they already trailed 30-7 after inclement weather postponed their tilt with the Tigers with nine minutes and 27 seconds remaining in the final quarter.
G-C coach Roger Dodson was glad his unit made the most of its second 50-mile journey to northwest Indianapolis in two days. The final score was 30-13 in favor of the hosts.
“We actually put out a good effort. Defensively we shut them down and made some plays. We had nine and a half minutes to get three scores and got one. They were trying to run the clock out and we were passing, so both sides were a little predictable,” he said. “The kids played hard. We could’ve gone over there and not shown up. We played a real good nine and a half minutes.”
