Home runs by Wyatt Vestal and Joey Turner paced the offense for Mt. Vernon (9-10), which also got a pair of stolen bases from Noah Powell.

The Tigers scored six runs in the first inning, three in the second and four in the third Monday, racking up 12 hits in a five-inning contest.

NP’s Nicole Beaty (No. 1 singles) and Savannah McKnight (No. 3 singles) prevailed in three sets. Sarah Jones (No. 2 singles), Maddie Walrod/Molly Laughlin (No. 1 doubles) and Cassie York/Addison Eads (No. 2 doubles) triumphed for Mt. Vernon (9-5).

Jake Kauth’s 37 led the Cougars (7-2).
Adam Casto fired a 39, Connor Pence shot a 40 and Trevor Humphreys and Gage Mann recorded 43s.
