The New Palestine girls tennis team swept Morristown 5-0 in an away match Thursday, winning every match in straight sets.
Nicole Beaty, Madeline Smith and Sarah Pearson won at singles. Kara Miller/Kylar Litteral and Lauren Hardebeck/Alana Henry prevailed at doubles.

Rachel Davis hit a home run for MV, which dropped to 2-4 in Hoosier Heritage Conference play.
Davis’ home run cut the Marauders’ deficit from 7-3 to 7-6 in the seventh inning. She also had a two-out RBI single. Lauren Montgomery had a sacrifice fly.

Anderson scored three runs in the top of the sixth to pull ahead for good Thursday.
Zach Norman and Michael Cripe had two hits and an RBI each for MV (7-9), which lost to a common sectional foe.

Brady Elliott led the Dragons with a 46 Thursday.
Sam O’Dell (47), Grayden Martin (48) and Brody Harter (49) rounded out the NP scoring.
