The New Palestine volleyball team notched a 25-23, 25-9, 25-15 sweep of North Decatur at home Thursday to move to 2-0 on the season.

Jamie Morris posted eight kills, four digs and a block. Mikayla Little chipped in with five aces, three kills and a block. Katie Morris added five kills, four assists and a block. McKenze Qualkinbush had four digs and a team-high 10 assists.

The Dragons host Brebeuf on Tuesday.

Volleyball

Cambridge City 3, Eastern Hancock 2

The Royals dropped a close one Thursday, falling 25-23, 20-25, 25-20, 18-25, 19-17 at home to Cambridge City.

Hannah Best (six kills, 37 digs), Melissa Bedell (17 kills, 19 digs, four assists), Jordian Eastes (51 assists, 12 digs), Tori Bednarski (31 digs) and Beka Dickmander (15 kills) were standouts for EH.

The Royals (1-1) are at the Union Modoc Invitational today.

Lawrence North 3, Mt. Vernon 0

The Marauders were swept by visiting Lawrence North 25-16, 25-13, 25-14 on Thursday.

Emily White notched 10 digs. Ellie Balbach had four kills, four digs and two blocks. Sara Lyday posted four kills and four blocks.

Mary Grace Ertel contributed four blocks. Sydney Shelton and Shelby Blair had two kills apiece.

MV is at the Ritter Invitational today.
