Greenfield-Central’s Taylor Johnson clocked in at 59.43 to finish 16th in the 100 butterfly at the girls swimming state finals Saturday at IUPUI.
Johnson qualified 15th during Friday’s preliminaries with a time of 58.26.
Carmel took home the team competition for the 27th straight season, the longest state streak for a girls team in the nation. The Greyhounds have the longest active championship streak in the country regardless of sport or gender.
Punahou High School (Honolulu, HI) won 29 consecutive boys swimming championships from 1958-86.
