G-C volleyball handles Shenandoah




The Eastern Hancock volleyball team rallied to defeat Class A No. 6 Wes-Del — the defending state champions — for its 13th consecutive victory Tuesday, 19-25, 25-18, 27-25, 25-15.

The unranked Royals have also beaten Class A No. 9 Hauser this season.

Frannie Stephenson (16 kills, 11 digs), Jordian Eastes (44 assists, 12 digs), Hannah Best (26 digs, three aces), Melissa Bedell (11 kills, seven digs), Lauren Harmon (nine kills), Lytia Vanderpool (16 digs) and Tori Bednarski (15 digs) contributed for EH.

The Royals (18-5) host Knightstown Tuesday.

Volleyball

Greenfield-Central 3, Shenandoah 0

G-C prevailed in an away match Tuesday, 25-10, 25-19, 25-19.

The Cougars (15-8) host Pendleton Heights today.

Yorktown 3, New Palestine 0

The Dragons were felled by visiting Yorktown — the No. 1 team in Class 3A and the defending state champions — 25-10, 25-10, 25-8 Tuesday.

Katie Morris paced New Palestine (11-14) with three kills and three blocks.

NP is at Triton Central today.
