State Finals schedule

Information on Saturday’s gymnastics sectional at New Palestine (10 a.m. start):

Teams: Cathedral, Franklin Central, Greenwood, Cathedral, Morristown, New Palestine, Noblesville, Perry Meridian, Roncalli, Shelbyville, Tindley.

Defending champion: Roncalli

Admission: $6.

Advancement: The top six place winners in each event advance to the regional tournament at Lafayette Jefferson March 8; the top six place winners in the all-around competition advance to the regional tournament; all gymnasts who receive the score of the sixth place gymnast at the previous state finals meet advance to the regional tournament (Bars – 9.475; Beam – 9.425; Vault – 9.550; Floor Exercise  – 9.425; All-Around  –  37.300); the three teams compiling the highest number of points at each sectional shall advance as a complete team to the regional tournament; individual ties for advancement of the last position in the tournament series shall stand.

Tickets for the girls basketball State Finals Saturday at Indiana State are on sale in Mt. Vernon athletic office through today at 10 a.m. Tickets are $15 per session.

Class A — FW Canterbury (24-3) vs. Vincennes Rivet (22-4), 10:30 a.m.

Class 2A — Eastern (Greentown) (22-3) vs. Evansville Mater Dei (27-2), 12:45 p.m.

State FInals Session II

Class 3A — Hamilton Heights (23-2) vs. Mt. Vernon (22-4), 6 p.m.

Class 4A — Fort Wayne South Side (24-3) vs. Bedford North Lawrence (27-0), 8:15 p.m.
